Kindergarten Registration

KINDERGARTEN INFORMATION AND REGISTRATION FOR SEPTEMBER 2022


For children who are 5-years old on or before 9/1/2022, we offer free, Full-Day Kindergarten. Half-day Kindergarten is no longer offered as an option.

Online Registration for the 2022-2023 school year began on January 19th, 2022.

THE IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Scituate New Student Registration will be done online in the Aspen Online Registration Portal using an Aspen Family Portal account.
  • Families with a student currently enroll should have an Aspen Family Portal account (check with a family member if unsure). If needed, please email aspenhelp@scit.org for assistance accessing your account.

  • Families new to Scituate schools will need to create an account following directions below.

FIRST STEP

  • Gather copies, either scanned or photographed, or the required documents listed below.
  • Complete the Kindergarten Developmental History (Click to open and download) . It is a writeable PDF which after saving to your computer, you can complete, save, and then upload when prompted while completing the online registration.

Creating A New Aspen Family Portal Account

  • To create an account, go to https://ma-scituate.myfollett.com and click Request an account located under the Login ID box. Complete the required information and click the Create My Account button.

  • You will receive an email confirmation from Aspen sent to the email you used. For these new accounts the Aspen Logon ID will be your email address. Prior to January 19th you only need to log onto your account to confirm your account works..

Beginning The Registration 

  • Sign on to the Family Portal account and click the Initiate button on the home page in the Start a new New Student Registration section.

  • During the process, will be prompted to upload the required documents. Uploading the documents, either scanned or photographed, will speed the registration approval process. 

The Six Required Documents

  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Current Immunization Record and recent physical
  • Kindergarten Developmental History (click to download fillable PDF)
  • Proof of Residency (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)
  • Proof of Occupancy (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)
  • Proof of Parent Identification (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)

Requirement Details

Please provide 1 of each of the following three items:
Proof of Residency options: Please provide One (1) of the following:

  • Recent mortgage payment and/or property tax bill
  • Fully signed and executed Lease and/or Rental Agreement (Must be executed by both parties)
  • Landlord/Owner of Property Affidavit (Click here for the Residency Statement/Affidavit) for those who cannot produce proof of ownership or Lease.
  • Fully signed and executed Purchase and Sale (P&S) Agreement (provided occupancy date occurs within 30 days of enrollment)
  • Section 8 Agreement
Proof of Occupancy options: Please provide One (1) of the following:
  • Gas/Oil Bill, Electric Bill, Home (not cell) Telephone Bill, Cable Bill, Water Bill (Note: Bill must be dated within the past 45 days and address and name must be stated)
  • Recent bill dated within the past 45 days showing Scituate address and name (Note: A Residency Statement/Affidavit is required with this option)
  • Occupancy Statement/Affidavit must be notarized if a bill cannot be provided prior to student's enrollment.
Proof of Identification of Parent/Guardian options: Please provide a copy of One (1) of the following:
  • Valid MA Driver's License
  • Valid MA Photo ID Card
  • Valid Passport
  • Other Government issued Photo ID
