New and Returning Student Registration Grades 1 to 12, and PreK-ECC

Welcome to the Scituate Public Schools. 

For new Scituate High School students. The school has a specific requirements for students transferring from another school. Please click here to view the Transfer Student Letter 2022-2023. Tammy Rundle, the Director of School Counseling, has her email at the bottom of the inf4rmation sheet if you have questions not answered in the Transfer Information Letter.


  • Scituate New Student Registration will be done online in the Aspen Online Registration Portal using an Aspen Family Portal account.
  • Families new to Scituate schools will need to create an account following directions below.

  • Families with a student currently enroll should have an Aspen Family Portal account (check with a family member if unsure). If needed, please email [email protected] for assistance accessing your account.

Creating A New Aspen Family Portal Account

  • To create an account, go to and click Request an account located under the Login ID box. Complete the required information and click the Create My Account button.

  • You will receive an email confirmation from Aspen sent to the email you used. For these new accounts the Aspen Logon ID will be your email address. Prior to January 19th you only need to log onto your account to confirm your account works..

Begin the Registration Process

  • Sign on to the Family Portal account and click the Initiate button on the home page in the Start a new New Student Registration section.

  • To Resume working on an initialized Registration go to the Resume working on any New Student Registration that has already been started  section and click the green check box.

  • If you have initialized registration you don't need you can click the red X to delete it.

  • During the process, will be prompted to upload the required documents. Uploading the documents, either scanned or photographed, will speed the registration approval process. 

The Six Required Documents

  • Copy of Birth Certificate
  • Copy of Current Immunization Record and recent physical
  • Proof of Residency (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)
  • Proof of Occupancy (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)
  • Proof of Parent Identification (see below for examples of acceptable documentation)
  • Release of Records for previous school records - Grades 1 to 12: Release of Records Request Form

Required Documents Details

Please provide 1 of each of the following three items:
Proof of Residency options: Please provide One (1) of the following:

  • Recent mortgage payment and/or property tax bill
  • Fully signed and executed Lease and/or Rental Agreement (Must be executed by both parties)
  • Landlord/Owner of Property Affidavit (Click here for the Residency Statement/Affidavit) for those who cannot produce proof of ownership or Lease.
  • Fully signed and executed Purchase and Sale (P&S) Agreement (provided occupancy date occurs within 30 days of enrollment)
  • Section 8 Agreement
Proof of Occupancy options: Please provide One (1) of the following:
  • Gas/Oil Bill, Electric Bill, Home (not cell) Telephone Bill, Cable Bill, Water Bill (Note: Bill must be dated within the past 45 days and address and name must be stated)
  • Recent bill dated within the past 45 days showing Scituate address and name (Note: A Residency Statement/Affidavit is required with this option)
  • Occupancy Statement/Affidavit must be notarized if a bill cannot be provided prior to student's enrollment.
Proof of Identification of Parent/Guardian options: Please provide a copy of One (1) of the following:
  • Valid MA Driver's License
  • Valid MA Photo ID Card
  • Valid Passport
  • Other Government issued Photo ID

If your student will need transportation, please complete an application and submit with payment (if necessary) as soon as possible.   • If your family does not own your residence and you lack a lease you will need to have your landlord, or family, or friends, complete this Residency Affidavit Form AND they need to provide the proof of

Caregiver Authorization; when sharing, with parents, the responsibility for a student's education.

Contacting the Registrar - location to drop off documentation

Registration is located at the Scituate Public School's Central Administration Office which is on the Gates Middle School/Scituate High School campus. The office is located past the Gates school entrance as shown in the image below. For GPS directions please use 460 First Parish Rd. Scituate, MA. The Registrar phone number is 781-545-8759 x23300.

Emailing require documentation

You can scan and email the completed forms to [email protected]. For required documents not emailed or for those needing to be photocopied, please contact the Registrar to make an appointment to complete your child's registration.

Registration is complete once all forms and documents are approved by the Registrar.

Student Birth Certificate

You may provide a copy of your child's original Birth Certificate or child's Passport for Grades 1 to 12. For Kindergarten students an original must be presented, with a seal, at time of registration.

Free and Reduced Lunch

The Scituate Public Schools provides free or reduced price meals to student whose families meet the financial requirements. You can access additional information and forms at

Race and Ethnicity

The Online Registration process requests Race and Ethnicity information for your child based on the following definitions:

  • Hispanic or Latino: A person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race. The term, "Spanish origin," can be used in addition to Hispanic or Latino.
  • Or, Not Hispanic or Latino
  • Race (you may select all that apply):
  • American Indian or Alaska Native: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of North and South America (including Central America), and who maintains tribal affiliation or community attachment.
  • Asian: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, or the Indian subcontinent including, for example, Cambodia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippine Islands, Thailand, and Vietnam.
  • Black or African American: A person having origins in any of the black racial groups of Africa.
  • Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Hawaii, Guam, Samoa, or other Pacific Islands.
  • White: A person having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, the Middle East, or North Africa.

Military Family Status

As part of the Interstate Commission on Educational Opportunity for Military Children the State of Massachusetts requires school districts to collect Military Family status information of a student's parent or guardian. The term uniformed services used in the registration form means the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard as well as the Commissioned Corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Public Health Services.

Student medical information must be completed and reviewed by a Scituate Public School nurse prior to a student attending their first day of school in Scituate.
