Elementary Academic Web Tools

The following tools are used to in the elementary schools to support student learning.

Accelerated Reader
accellerated-readerRenaissance Learning’s Accelerated Reader serves as a platform for teachers to manage independent reading practice. Students read a book at the appropriate level and then take a computer-based quiz to show they understood what they’ve read. Accelerated Reader provides access to 160,000 quizzes, nearly half for nonfiction books.

envisionmathenVisionMATH
EnVision Math is the math programs for grades K-6.  It is aligned with the Common Core and State frameworks.  The program offers a mastery approach to learning where skills and concepts are mastered in order to solve problems.  The curriculum is constructed to help teachers meet the diverse needs of students with each unit supplying teachers with differentiated instruction strategies, ELL (English Language Learners) strategies, special education strategies and considerations for advanced/gifted students.  Features also include frequent assessment opportunities that allow teachers to monitor student progress and technology tools offering visual learning and animation to make math more explicit for students.

fasttmathFastt Math
Fastt Math is a web-based math program focused on improving math fluency. It is adaptive to individual needs as a math fact fluency baseline is established with an initial quiz.  FASTT Math then provides scaffolded, daily instructional sessions, individualized for each student. Instruction focuses on targeted facts students need to learn based on the assessment.  Students get fluent faster by practicing what they’ve learned in engaging and motivating games.   Students may access Fastt Math in school or at home.

fractionNationFraction Nation
Fraction Nation is a web-based math program that delivers targeted, explicit instruction to help students learn some of the most difficult concepts – fractions and decimals. Every student has an individualized learning experience which helps students build and achieve fraction fluency.

Fraction Nation supports any math curriculum. The ideal implementation is for students to work independently for 15 minutes a day, 3-5 times a week.

Lexia Reading provides explicit, systematic, personalized learning in the six areas of reading instruction, and delivers norm-referenced performance data and analysis without interrupting the flow of instruction to administer a test.
