On September 10th, the technology department offered its first Get Connected open house for families. The event ran from 3PM – 7PM and covered the following topics:
- Google Drive and Google Classroom
- Digital Citizenship
- Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
- Technical Support
- Q & A
Families walked away with a better understanding of the differences between applications and technology tips. Parents also shared tips with each other. When talking about students texting and emailing, a parent told us that if a family member emails their son, an agreed upon secret word must appear in the subject line so that the child knows that the email is from a trusted adult. What a great idea! We hope to run Get Connected again sometime in the future.
