Objectives

    • To provide a curriculum of basic skills and concepts in English, mathematics, science and the social studies.
    • To provide a reading program for students at various grade levels.
    • To develop and maintain good physical and mental health.
    • To develop a sense of self-discipline, self-respect, and self-reliance.
    • To help students make the transition from the elementary to high school.
    • To encourage students to understand the principles of responsibility to a democratic society.
    • To become proficient in computational and communicational skills.
    • To identify, clarify, and develop values which will help them to relate to society in a satisfying and intelligent way.
    • To provide opportunities for enrichment experiences.
    • To provide opportunities for remedial experiences.
    • To consider the physical and emotional development of the students.
    • To provide exposure to exploratory courses in fine arts and practical arts.
    • To utilize a schedule which includes blocks of time within which teachers have the flexibility to group students in varied ways for instructional purposes.
    • To provide a pleasant, cheerful and professional school environment where students and teachers feel relaxed, comfortable and respected.
    • To provide basic courses in foreign languages – Latin, French, Spanish.
    • To encourage involvement in extra-curricular activities.
    • To provide resources for special needs students to receive equal educational opportunities.
    • To provide library and media services which support our curriculum in all areas.
    • To provide a health education program for all students.
