Welcome to the Scituate METCO Program Home Page.
The Scituate METCO Program is truly committed to providing high quality social and educational experiences for our students. In an effort to achieve our stated goals, we must all work together and carry our collective weight. That is how we begin to reduce the proverbial equity and achievement gaps. Teaching and learning must be engaging acts. The METCO program expects students to strive and maintain both self-respect and high academic expectations for themselves. During this journey we also hope each student will find their intellectual identities while developing the social capital necessary to expand their horizons.
Prior to beginning the initial METCO placement process, there was a mutual agreement that parents will be active participants in the various aspects of the overall program and school district. In Scituate, we value each classroom seat due to the many historical efforts and sweat equity that made this program possible over forty years ago!

The Scituate METCO Parent Organization (SMPO) is funded through annual dues. These funds support student activities and the Scituate METCO Community. Each family has been asked to pay their annual dues in the amount of $60.00 for the 2011-2012 academic year.
