The Scituate Public Schools Early Childhood Center is accredited by the National Association of the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC) and provides preschool program for children ages three through five. The preschool program includes a balance of children who are typically developing and children with special needs. To best meet the needs of an integrated program every effort is maintained to keep the class sizes small. Services in the area of speech and language, occupational and physical therapy and psychological consultation are provided within the program and on an itinerant basis. Our approach to learning is multi-sensory and children participate in a variety of activities that are appropriate to each child’s age, interests and needs. Families are viewed as an integral part of the education process and a partnership between home and school is fostered.
The Early Childhood Center conducts screenings and evaluations throughout the year. If a parent or guardian has a concern about any area of a child’s development (ages 3-5), s/he is welcome to contact our center to discuss the need for an evaluation (781-545-8775 X354).
