A warm welcome to our new Scituate families and welcome back to those returning. It is hard to believe that the summer is coming to an end and a new school year is beginning. Cushing's PTO is a volunteer organization made up of our Principal, Mary Ohrenberger, parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are all dedicated to enhancing the education of our children. The PTO has been working hard this summer to help make this year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, faculty and parents alike. The purpose of the PTO is to use our resources to support the overall efforts of the Cushing School Staff thus inspiring Cushing School spirit and pride.
We encourage you to not only join our organization, but get involved as well! Everything we do is based on volunteers. We are always looking for those of you to help make a difference in the lives of our children. Every positive imprint we make on our children can go a long way. Any time you can give is most appreciated. We have plenty of committees you can join and will work with your schedule.
Help us make the 2012-13 school year one to remember and join the Cushing PTO. Should you have interest in joining the PTO or have any questions, we will have a table at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 13th from 6:15-7:30pm. The PTO meets every other month this year (holding meetings as needed during the off months). At our meetings, we discuss upcoming events, plan fundraisers and share ideas to enrich all programs. This is a wonderful way to find out what is happening at our school from the PTO's perspective. Our first meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 18th at 6:30pmin the cafeteria.

It is the mission of the PTO to work in conjunction with both parents and teachers to provide a comprehensive, enriching and collaborative educational experience for the students through the efforts of its parent based volunteer groups.
The PTO provides support to the school by raising money to fund selected enrichment programs, social events, classroom activities, necessary supplies, donations, improvements, and much more. The PTO activities held throughout the year are made possible by the volunteer efforts of both parents and teachers.
